Discover the Joy of Motorcycling with Learn2Ride Training Foundation

Updated: Sep 10

We are a locally founded motorcycle training school in Windsor-Essex. Our school was created by instructors who share a passion for safe riding and community connections.

The Instructors Behind Learn2Ride

Our team is led by two dedicated instructors, Andy Stratton and Flavio Matias. Andy has been teaching riders for over 20 years. He began at the college level and later worked with another school. Over a decade ago, he connected with Flavio, who shared the same vision for helping both new and experienced riders.

The two began teaching side by side and have been doing so ever since. Their combined experience—over 30 years—has shaped Learn2Ride into what it is today: a school designed to keep riders safe while strengthening local ties.

Why We Started

Motorcycling can be life-changing, but it isn’t for everyone. It requires patience, respect for the road, and the right training. We noticed too many riders trying to figure it out on their own. We knew there was a better way.

That’s why Learn2Ride was created. With the right guidance, many riders who once doubted themselves discover that they can ride safely. Our goal is to provide every student with the knowledge and confidence to make that decision for themselves.

The Courses

We currently offer two main programs:

  • M2 Course (M1 to M2): This course is for beginners ready to move past their M1.

  • M Course (M2 to M): This course is for riders looking to complete their licensing journey and earn their full M.

Both courses focus on practical skills, safe riding habits, and building confidence on the road.

Community Connections

From the beginning, Learn2Ride was built with community in mind. We proudly participate in events that support Windsor-Essex and the people who call it home:

  • Hogs for Hospice (August): An incredible community event we’ll support every year.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters (September): Another important cause we’re excited to join.

  • On a Mission for a Mission (July, starting next year): We’ll be part of their annual event.

  • WETRA (Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association) and the Iron Horse Motorcycle Club: Through their “Hogs for Horses” event, which we hope to attend annually.

  • Partnership with Desjardins Insurance (Murray Insurance Group): Building even stronger local ties.

These events and partnerships are not just names on a list. They represent opportunities to connect with people, support good causes, and demonstrate that motorcycling has a real place in giving back.

Our Home at The Fort Fun Centre

All of our training takes place at The Fort Fun Centre in Amherstburg. If you haven’t visited, it’s worth the trip. The Fort has been part of the community for years, offering food, entertainment, volleyball leagues, family activities, and more.

For us, it’s the perfect spot to teach. It provides students a safe place to learn while also introducing more people to everything The Fort has to offer.

Join the Conversation

Learn2Ride Training Foundation is still new, but we’ve already witnessed the strength of this riding community. We’d love to continue building that together.

If you’ve trained with us, please consider leaving a Google review—your feedback helps future riders find us. If you’re curious about motorcycling, reach out, comment, or even stop by one of the events we attend.

Every rider’s story adds something unique to the community, and we want to hear yours.

The Benefits of Motorcycling

Motorcycling offers numerous benefits beyond just the thrill of riding. It promotes mental well-being, encourages physical fitness, and fosters a sense of community. Riders often find a sense of belonging among fellow enthusiasts.

Mental Well-Being

Riding a motorcycle can be a great stress reliever. The focus required while riding helps clear the mind. Many riders report feeling a sense of freedom and peace when they are on the road. This mental clarity can be beneficial in everyday life.

Physical Fitness

Motorcycling also encourages physical fitness. Balancing a motorcycle requires core strength and stability. Regular riding can improve coordination and reflexes. It’s a fun way to stay active while enjoying the outdoors.

Building Community

Motorcycling is not just a solo activity; it’s a community. Riders often form friendships through shared experiences. Events and group rides foster connections that can last a lifetime. Being part of a riding community can enhance the overall experience of motorcycling.

Safety First

Safety is paramount in motorcycling. At Learn2Ride, we emphasize the importance of safety in all our courses. We teach students how to handle their bikes responsibly and how to react in various situations.

Understanding Road Rules

Knowing the rules of the road is crucial for every rider. Our courses cover essential traffic laws and regulations. Understanding these rules helps keep riders safe and ensures a smoother riding experience.

Proper Gear

Wearing the right gear is also vital for safety. We encourage all our students to invest in quality protective equipment. This includes helmets, jackets, gloves, and boots. Proper gear can make a significant difference in case of an accident.

Defensive Riding Techniques

We also teach defensive riding techniques. These skills help riders anticipate potential hazards and react accordingly. Being aware of surroundings and other road users is key to safe riding.

Conclusion

Motorcycling is more than just a hobby; it’s a way of life. At Learn2Ride Training Foundation, we are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all riders. Whether you are a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, we are here to help.

Join us on this journey of discovery and connection. Together, we can create a vibrant community of riders who support one another and share the joy of motorcycling.
